HIPAA Hotline: (919) 715-3358

An HIPAA Hotline has been established and is ready for your calls. The hotline is exclusively for North Carolina local public health staff with questions regarding Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance. The voicemail box is monitored daily. This service is the result of a collaborative effort between the NC Association of Local Health Directors and the NC Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health.

Your public health agency should identify one person to be the "designated caller" to the hotline. Answers to questions will be directed to this person. It is then their responsibility to disseminate the information to your staff.
